This concern was constituted in 1975 and has been primarily involved in imports and local distribution of various commodities. It caters to the periodic requirements of almost the entire liquor industry in India. It was responsible for launching American oak in India and thereby ushering in a revolution of quality. The concept of maturation was thus introduced in India. From American Oak wood barrels, French barrels, toasted Oak Chips, Oak Vats to flavors, sherry, Vatted Malt (Scotch), packing and botanicals the entire diverse inputs required by the Indian liquor industry are continually imported by Oceanic. It has distributed IMFL and beer in the Bombay market with much success and has interests in various liquor marketing arms in India. The corporation fulfills its own requirements of shipping and chartering and has in the past through its subsidiaries exported many a vessel load of minerals including iron ore.
